It is reported that 127-meter high Northampton “Express Lifts Tower” is now in new ownership and that there are long term plans for its future use. The tower, which has Grade two Listed Status, has been out of use since 1997.

After renovations and minor alterations it is intended that Northampton University and industrial partners will use the tower for research and testing. The tower will also be used as a hub for telecommunications.

It is hoped that full use will resume in about 18 months time.
